Diamond Peak Ski Resort is an excellent learning environment for beginners. If you have never skied or snowboarded before, or just want to sharpen your skills, head to this family-friendly mountain. The beginner ski or snowboard package is an excellent value for beginner lift ticket, lesson and equipment rental.

The slopes are usually uncrowded and lift lines are short, so you can pack in lots of skiing and riding. Diamond Peak has some of the best views at Lake Tahoe, especially from the deck at Snowflake Lodge. The Base Lodge with expanded food service area and equipment rental facilities will add to your enjoyment.

All Vacation Station rental properties are just a few minutes to Diamond Peak. Many are on the free shuttle bus route.

Mount Rose Ski Tahoe is a friendly, family oriented ski area that offers something for everyone, from gentle beginner slopes to extreme expert terrain.

Their Rosebuds ski/ride school for children is a great program for beginners. Riders will find plenty of challenges at the Badlands and DoubleDown terrain parks. And only experts should attempt The Chutes: 1500 feet of vertical drop at 40 to 55 degrees.

With Tahoe's highest elevation, Mount Rose tends to have some of the best snow conditions, especially later in the season.

Northstar at Tahoe is a great choice for intermediate skiers and riders who enjoy long runs on perfectly groomed trails. Its 8 terrain parks make Northstar a boarder’s paradise.

The Village at Northstar is a world class mountain village with cafes and restaurants for every taste and budget. It hosts dozens of shops Including clothing boutiques, art galleries and specialty stores. A year-round ice skating rink, special events and live entertainment are offered throughout the season.

Cross-country, telemark and snowshoe trails are also available.

Northstar is about 25 minutes from Incline Village by car or take the free shuttle bus.
